With around 50% of the world&#8217;s reserves, the bauxite and alumina industry occupies a prominent place in the Guinean economy.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"element-text\"><p>The current annual production of around 15Mt is expected to rise to more than 50Mt in the next 5 to 10 years. In the BOKE region, CBG (Compagnie des Bauxites de Guin\u00e9e) has been mining the Sangar\u00e9di deposit for many years. New concessions have been granted to GAC (Guinea Alu &#8230;.) and to RUSAL, which already operates a bauxite mine and an alumina refinery in the Fria region.<\/p><p>The 3 companies have signed an agreement to jointly operate the 120 km main railway line.
