Tunisia: delivery of the first 10 EMD GT42AC locomotives

On December 22 and 23, 2018, 10 EMD GT42AC locomotives were unloaded at the port of SFAX in Tunisia as part of the contract signed between SNCFT and EMD Progress Rail for the supply of 20 locomotives intended for the transport of phosphate.

CIM, representative of EMD in Tunisia, accompanies and supports the realization of this contract as well as the services of commissioning, technical assistance and after-sales service.

The combination of the power of these 3250 HP GT42ACs and the use of automatic couplers will, during 2019, increase the transport of phosphate on the metric track connecting GAFSA and SFAX.

This first delivery of 10 locomotives is the culmination of a solid and efficient collaboration between SNCFT, EMD and CIM.
